Doing consistent weight training and strengthening exercises drives your body to burn more calories even when at rest. And higher muscle mass equals faster and better resting metabolism. Definitely worth the weight!
Improved mobility and stability
Research suggests that strength training from your younger to more advanced years builds up a muscle reserve that helps mitigate the physical effects of aging. And that includes maintaining greater mobility and balance.
Strengthening your muscles helps keep your bones strong. This is specifically essential for women who are approaching or is currently in the menopausal stage. Unfortunately, a woman’s bone density drops during that stage, making her more vulnerable to osteoporosis.
