5 Easy Ways To Detoxify At Home
November 19, 2018
Detoxification.
You’ve heard the word bandied about for so long. But do you really know what it means?
Detoxification is about cleansing and nurturing the body from the inside out. By eradicating unwanted toxins and providing your body with proper nourishment, detoxifying can shield you against diseases and health problems.
People really don’t like to think about harmful toxins building up in their colons or in their arteries, but it’s often a by-product of environmental pollutants and a diet that’s high in fat and processed foods.
So how do we fight the toxin build-up? We detoxify.
Let’s talk about 5 easy ways you can detoxify at home!
1. Drink Lots Of Water
Basic, huh?
There’s nothing–and I mean nothing!—better than water to help detoxify your body. Water is essential to eliminating unwanted toxins. Drink at least 4-5 liters of water a day to help remove impurities. It also aids in weight loss, amps up your energy, and addresses skin problems.
If you’re looking for some flavor, add slices of lemon and mint leaves for a refreshing alternative.
2. Go Organic Or Fresh
The prevailing cause of toxin accumulation is the high intake of fried and processed foods. The excess salt, oil, and sugar lead to a variety of health problems in the long run.
In addition, when vegetables and fruits are sprayed with pesticides, they can cause harm to your body. Which is why it’s important to choose organic vegetables and fruits instead of what I’d call “lazy” food (i.e. processed and fast food). Minimize salt, sugar, and oil intake. Believe me, your future body will thank you for it.
3. Get Some Exercise
Exercise produces profuse sweating which enables your skin to eliminate toxins. Sweating is an efficient way to detoxify and can eradicate metals such as lead, mercury, and arsenic. And exercising is the best way to sweat it out! You don’t even have to leave home to do it!
4. Have Some Green Smoothies
Power yourself up with some healthy greens! Highly nutritious and tasty to boot, smoothies made of kale, spinach, and other green leafy vegetables work best to detoxify your body. You can also add in apple, strawberries, banana, cucumber, lettuce, carrot, or beetroot for a truly effective antioxidant drink. Have it for breakfast or as a snack!
5. Try Short-Term Fasting
For a day or two, eat only fresh fruits and vegetables instead of your regular fare. This would rejuvenate your digestive system and provide your tummy a much-needed break.
At Havasu, we consider detoxification a significant part of getting healthy. Which is why we have the Advanced Probiotic Capsules, Advanced Probiotic Gummies, and Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules—all beneficial to detoxification and cleansing.
What do you think? Pretty easy to do, right? When (and if!) you decide to detox, let me know how it goes! I’d love to hear from you.
