7 Ways to Improve Focus
October 20, 2021
Some people have a difficult time staying focused for several reasons including not enough sleep, not enough exercise, and not eating a balanced, nutritional diet that gives you the vitamins and nutrients you need.
For an added supplement to your diet, you can try Havasu Nutrition’s NeuroIgnite, which is an extra-strength brain supplement. In addition to adding supplements to your daily routine, we’ve curated a list of several holistic ways to help you improve your focus:
1.Improve Your Sleep Hygiene
Not getting enough sleep can be detrimental to your mental, emotional and spiritual health. Your focus is limited because your brain is tired and confused and hasn’t had enough time to prepare for the day and all the challenges that it brings. Even if you get the recommended amount of sleep, it may be restless or interrupted. You really need deep, restful REM sleep. Try Havasu Nutrition’s Night Time Fat Burner with Melatonin, L-Theanine and Green Coffee for help sleeping
2.Limit Your Distractions
Though the world is uber-connected with electronics, you don’t have to be. You can power off your devices when you aren’t using them and allow yourself to fall into a relaxed mental state. Sometimes cell phones and laptops can interfere with your ability to be in the moment. Also, limit distractions with the television and anything that takes you away from what’s immediate and in the now.
3.Practice Yoga
Practicing a short yoga routine daily can help you learn to focus because there are breathing exercises you can do that help you get into and stay in the now. Try the tree pose, the mountain pose, the dance pose and the child pose. You can do some research and find what works best for focus and incorporate that into your routine. There are also excellent tutorials on breathing online.
4.Preparation is Key
So you can stay on task and stay focused, it’s important to create a plan for the project you are trying to tackle. Set daily and weekly goals and reward yourself as you accomplish each thing.
5.Create a Clean, Healthy Work Environment
Grab a few smell-goods like an essential oil lamp or incense and put on some music that has healing vibrations to help you get and stay focused like binaural beats on YouTube. You can also burn some sage and do a little cleaning and dusting in your area so that you feel more focused and able to concentrate. Aromatherapy is a great way to help soothe your nerves as well.
6.Take Back Your Power
There is power in not reacting to the source of your stress, which can be a big cause of tension and anxiety causing you to not be able to focus. You don’t have to answer every phone call or every text message. In fact, try turning your cell phone off for at least one day a week while you are at work and you’ll see an improvement within a few weeks because your attention won’t be as divided. Making people respond to you instead of always responding to their energy can help to provide balance in your life.
7.Spend Time in Nature
Being in Nature produces feelings of being calm and happy and as a result, helps you to focus better on the tasks at hand. Taking a brisk walk can help improve your blood pressure and increase your dopamine levels which play a critical role in helping you to focus.
Go for a run . . . listen to some classical music . . . buy an energy drink . . . whatever it takes to concentrate on that midterm or final exam, or that big presentation coming up.
